Piia Heikkinen is Managing Director at renewable energy company Nordi. She is also Board member in Renewables Finland and Chair of the Finnish Solar Power Committee. Piia has been working with solar power on the Finnish market since 2017.
Ossi Ikonen is a Client Executive at Alight, responsible for delivering power purchase agreements (PPAs) from Alight’s Finnish solar projects to corporate clients. With over 15 years of experience in the Finnish energy market, he has held key roles in energy operations and strategy at UPM, Stora Enso, and Neste. Ossi was selected as a participant in the World Energy Council’s Global Future Energy Leader cohort (2021–2023) and holds a Master of Science in Energy Technology from LUT (Lappeenranta University of Technology).
Antero Reilander became a Fingrid employee exactly a quarter of a century ago. Since then, Antero has held various positions in network condition management, operations, network planning, network connections, investment calculations and regulation. Antero has been involved in grid connections of renewable energy since the 00s. In his day-to-day work, his goal is to find the best grid connection solutions for all customers in cooperation with other grid companies and to be involved in grid planning so that the transmission networks meet the needs of customers and the electricity market in the future.
Paolo has worked in ABB since 1993, where he covers the role of Sustainability Manager for the ELDS Division (Electrification, Distribution Solutions). In his current role, Paolo is responsible for the product sustainability aspects of the ELDS Division portfolio, as well as for the reduction of carbon emissions of the ELDS factories around the world, and he daily engages with key Customers on sustainability topics.
In addition to his role in ABB, Paolo is also a Vice President of ANIE Energia (Association of Italian Electrical and Electronic manufacturers), where he is also active member of the European Task Force. He is also a Vice President and member of the Executive Committee of T&D Europe (European Association of all manufacturers of medium and high voltage devices).
Paolo’s career developed in Italy, South Africa and in the Middle East, where he held several managerial positions in Marketing & Sales and manufacturing of medium voltage products and systems, and he was also very actively engaged in switchgear for marine applications, where Finland is one of the most reputable players.
Miika Pilli is leading Neoen’s development team in Finland, with a significant portfolio of wind, solar, storage and hybrid projects across the country. Currently Neoen has invested into almost 800 MW of renewable energy assets in Finland and continues to grow rapidly. Neoen is the largest renewable energy IPP in the world with an operational capacity of more than 9 GW, targeting 10 GW by the end of 2025.
Elina is a highly motivated energy professional with over a decade of experience in renewable energy, especially in solar. She is committed to realize as many MW of sustainable energy projects as possible. Elina leads the engineering team in Etha widely supporting clients in wind, solar, BESS and decarbonization projects. Her background in engineering physics ensures that the fundamentals and numbers aren’t forgotten while aiming high and being innovative.
Aleksi has 25 years of global experience in clean energy transition, especially investments and finance. Before joining Enordic, in addition to investment and finance positions, he has worked in leading positions in consulting and corporate finance advisory, as well as in international organisations. Enordic is Ardian’s operating partner in charge of Ardian Infrastructure Funds’ energy sector investments in Northern Europe. Ardian is a world-leading asset manager with its headquarters in Paris and $177bn of assets under management.
Saku-Matti Mäki (M.Sc. Technology) is accelerating access to solar PV and energy storage at OX2. With over 10 years of experience in the energy and process industries, he helps teams to lead and manage projects proactively to deliver agreed business results.
Heikki is a technical professional with strong economics background, well versed with full renewables project value chain and Mergers and Acquisitions. Over a 16 years of experience in international renewables business, projects development, engineering and technology. Key resource in solar and wind projects of which over 1.7 GW developed, build and today in operations.
Today focus and special interest in leadership, holistic wellbeing and performance + combining solar and wind with synergy technologies, energy system and customer need.
Both in my private and business life I want to make sure that my actions have net positive impact to planet and people.
Personal target to build 20GW new renewables – safe and sustainable way as soon as possible.
Veli-Matti Heimonen (M.Sc. Econ.), Solnet Group’s CEO and partner, has been with the company since 2018 and previously served as Solnet Group’s Chief Operating Officer and Country Manager for Finland. Before joining Solnet Group, Veli-Matti Heimonen has extensive experience in sales and operational development in large corporations such as KONE and Hewlett-Packard.
Veli-Matti Heimonen is leading the rapidly growing Solnet Group’s European expansion through partnerships with major corporate clients. The company recently revamped its strategy to focus on Future-Proof solutions.
